Self-Watering Raised Garden Bed
The major drawback to most raised beds is watering. In the heat of the summer, it can feel like you can never keep up with watering, especially for those tender plants. I like to dabble in garden design and this is one that I'm particularly proud to have made. With a three foot height, it brings the soil to a comfortable working height and the 12 inch false bottom reduces the soil volume from 2 cubic yards down to 1.3 cubic yards. Save your back and wallet. This design includes access to the space below the false bottom for added storage. The water system can hold up to 10 gallons of water when filled. That's enough water for almost an entire season!
I will be adding these to our garden in Spring 2022. Follow along with us on Instagram (@meetusatthegarden) to see how they work.
